MoodGarden: Mood Tracker - Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

By using MoodGarden, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

App Description

MoodGarden is a mobile application that helps you track your mood over time. The App provides:

• Daily mood logging, represented as a growing garden of plants
• Streaks that reflect how consistently you log your mood
• Statistics and insights about your logged mood patterns
• Optional local reminders to log your mood
• Optional premium features unlocked through a subscription

License to Use the App

Grant of License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use MoodGarden on an Apple device that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lease the App
• Remove or obscure any proprietary notices in the App
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our permission

User Responsibilities

Appropriate Use

You are responsible for:

• The mood entries and other information you choose to log
• Using the App in compliance with local laws and regulations
• Deciding for yourself how the App's reminders and insights fit into your routine

Personal Device Security

Because your data lives only on your device, you are responsible for:

• Securing your device with a passcode, biometric lock, or device encryption
• Managing who has physical access to your device
• Understanding that we cannot recover your data if your device is lost, reset, or the App is deleted

Subscriptions and Billing

Auto-Renewable Subscriptions

MoodGarden may offer optional premium features unlocked through an auto-renewable subscription, purchased through the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Payment and Cancellation

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
• All billing, renewal, and refund handling is managed by Apple through the App Store — we do not process payments ourselves and do not have access to your payment details
• To cancel or manage a subscription, go to your Apple ID account settings; we cannot cancel it on your behalf
• Refunds are governed by Apple's App Store policies, not by us

Local Data Storage

How Your Data Is Stored

Mood entries, streaks, and garden data you create in MoodGarden are stored locally on your device. MoodGarden has no backend server and no account system — we do not receive, store, or have access to this data.

Your Responsibility for Backups

Because your data lives only on your device, uninstalling the App, resetting your device, or losing your device may permanently delete it. You are responsible for backing up your device using your device's own backup features if you want to preserve your data. We are not responsible for data loss caused by device loss, damage, reset, or App deletion.

Notifications

MoodGarden can send local reminder notifications, such as a prompt to log your mood. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device by the App and are not sent from a server. You can enable, disable, or adjust reminder times from within the App's settings, and you can manage notification permissions at any time in your device's system settings.

Acceptable Use

Permitted Use

You may use MoodGarden for your own personal, non-commercial mood tracking and reflection.

Prohibited Use

You may not use the App to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to interfere with, disable, or circumvent the App's subscription or payment mechanisms
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's underlying code or systems
• Misrepresent your affiliation with us or the App

MoodGarden is a self-reflection and mood-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare or mental health professional. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or believe you or someone else may be in danger, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline in your area immediately.

No Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

• Any particular improvement in mood, wellbeing, or habits from using the App
• Uninterrupted app availability
• Compatibility with all devices
• Error-free operation

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App
• We are not responsible for decisions you make based on the App's content or insights
• We are not liable for data loss, including loss caused by device issues or App deletion

Third-Party Services

Current Services

The App uses RevenueCat solely to process and manage in-app subscription purchases made through the App Store. We do not use analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and MoodGarden does not share your mood data with any third party.

Future Services

If we add third-party services in the future:

• You will be notified of any changes
• Services will be optional when possible
• You can opt out of optional services
• Third-party terms will apply to those services

App Updates and Changes

Updates

• We may update the App from time to time
• Updates may include new features, plant species, or bug fixes
• Some updates may be mandatory
• You agree to install updates when available

Changes to Terms

• We may modify these Terms occasionally
• Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last Updated" date on this page
• Continued use constitutes acceptance of changes
• You can stop using the App if you disagree with changes

Termination

Your Rights

You may stop using the App at any time by:

• Uninstalling the App
• Cancelling any active subscription through your Apple ID account settings
• Discontinuing use

Our Rights

We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if:

• You violate these Terms
• You misuse the App
• Required by law

Support

We provide support through email on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee response times, and support may be limited for older app versions.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the App is developed and distributed. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
